AMAZING STAFF!! Awesome breakfast. This hotel and staff went above and beyond to make sure we has an unforgettable stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great rates, but needs a lot of work. This property is old and shows its age. Many minor repairs and cosmetics needed. All that is acceptable, but our room was not clean and that is not acceptable. The desk staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast may have been okay, but they ran out of food long before we could get there to eat at 8am! They are housing many Hurricane Harvey victims, so let's give them a pass this time.
Our last experience here was good. Decided to come back since we enjoyed it last time but I don't think ill be coming back a 3rd time. First off, I go to do a late check out, cause that's what we did last time we came, and the older white lady said she would have to charge me the whole price again. I told her they did it last time and she looked at me funny and said no, I have to pay full price. We are like okay, it's summer, they are probably all booked up and that just means we are getting to Galveston sooner. When we arrived, the room had a smell to it, the bath tub had water in it and the whole floor in the bathroom area was slimy feeling. The carpet is discusting, I let my son crawl on the floor and his knees are BLACK. The channel list isn't even matched up. I don't know if they are slacking but our carpet was like that last time too. All in all, I think the only GREAT things about this motel is the breakfast and the noon check out.
Very clean and close to many restaurants, stores such as Super Wal-mart , a mall called Central Mall which has various types of stores, Great American Cookie , shoe stores,health stores , Penny's , Sears , n also a movie theater with several movies playing all day long , there's even places to eat, and an area to rest while the kids can play on several items that's surrounded with low level in- closed area . Great place to do whatever you choose for a day or just to get and go . Lots of parking . Several entrances. Police are always patrolling and will even walk you to car if you like . Plus Highway 365 is moments away has every thing that you may need while you stay at Howard Johnson's
