This was perfect for an overnight stay and allowed us to do a couple of loads of laundry. We pulled in after hours and the park manager's husband came out and offered us a place near his home to park our truck and trailer. He was very gracious. Later we realized the pad was long enough for the 29 ft RV as well as the truck and trailer. Right off I-10. Park well laid out with roomy roads and concrete pads with picnic tables. Pad was plenty wide for slide outs. Sidewalks run through the middle of the park for easy access to facilities at the front. Pool looked nice. A sign said complimentary bikes were available for guests. We also heard breakfast was free but didn't go as we heard there were few gluten free options. Laundry room small but good washers and a real value at $1 a wash. We washed at 8 pm on a Saturday and did not have to wait for a washer. No problems with full hook up but did not try TV. Good Verizon cell signal. Didn't try wifi. Very roomy individual shower rooms weren't fancy, but were clean and we liked them. We will stay here again as it was felt friendly, was easy, safe, fairly inexpensive, and we liked the shower rooms and washers. The only problem we found was there was no comfortable place to sit and watch washing laundry. There was a chair outside but Texas is hot!!! An inside waiting area would have improved the experience. Also, a sports field adjoins the back of the park. We were on the back row and did not find it to be an issue but there were lights on the field and cheering on and off for an hour or so after dark. Overall though the park was pretty sedate and quiet.
My family lived at the Resort for a year and a half while we were working in the area Beaumont area. My husband and I were always treated with respect. The park is well maintained. I always felt secure even when I walked in the evening. This is the best place to stay for one night or a week or even 18 months, like we did. Thank you each and everyone of the GCRR employees! You who made my time away from home feel so warm and welcoming.
Here for 3 nights. We leave tomorrow to continue onward to FL. Very nice and helpful staff. The park is kept nice and very well manicured. Playground looks brand new, very safe and inviting. The pool area is also kept nice and clean. Although we didn’t use the pool because of the chilly weather. All is pretty quiet except when a train goes by. That’s actually super loud. So just prepare for that sudden loud noise if you stay. We only heard 3 trains go by out of 3 days. Not bad. They do offer a free continental type breakfast here every morning which includes TX shaped waffles. My daughter loved this. There is a fenced dog park, a small library and a workout area. If necessary I would definitely stay at this park again.
I have stayed here several times and every time I use my Good sams card they put you in the worse site they have. Today I have been placed on the very back row next to an old trailer that has old tires, buckets, fishing nets and lots of pots with half dead plants. I asked for a other site but it fell on deaf ears. Beware If you use a discount card.
