First off, I am an Elite Plus member. I Pre-ordered an Item an was to receive a Bonus Item. Got an Email saying Bonus item weren't available. Arrived at store and they looked again. Finally found one but Manager canceled my order I had already made AND PAID FOR, and charged me again. All for a Bonus item. Usually they give these away free for purchase, but claimed its for inventory purposes. Guess I was lucky I have money in the bank or I would have been overdrawn or flat out NOT received my item.
I recently had a hard drive failure on my laptop and it would not boot. No recovery functions would work either. I though I had lost everything so I was super freaked out! The Geek Squad team installed a new solid state drive for me and was able to transfer all of my data to the new hard drive. After reinstalling a few programs and drivers, my laptop looks exactly how it did before the failure, and it is 1000 times faster! Thanks for saving me Geek Squad!!
The worst Best Buy Ever, Workers just hiding between shelves or in back rooms, you need to know someone there to find help, even if you asked for help you need to wait about 15 minuets to get it. I asked them to meet the store manager and they said he is NOT there. Anyway I don’t recommend to visit this store, you will save your time if found another store within half hour driving.
They have courteous helpful personnel, but Geek Squad is not all its cracked up to be. Took my laptop in and their diagnosis was the mother board. This is the same explanation two other friends experienced. Took it to another computer shop that is trust worthy and it was the drive. Seems to be a sales pitch.
Buyer beware. I would not recommend purchasing best buy extended warranty. They will try to find reasons not to honor. Bought a set of Sony wireless headphones. Where the metal is thin for the wiring to provide electric current to actual headphones was damaged. They immediately said warranty doesn't cover physical damage only defects in workmanship. I explained that where the wire runs is hollow and weaker where the wire runs. To me, that area should be made with stronger metal since its the weak link. But rather than make a happy customer, they would rather lose a client forever and whomever reads reviews. I even explained that to manager. He said essentially that he didn't care.
