We ordered a washer/dryer ($2,200 set) a little over a week ago in store. It was an easy process, and the salesman was very knowledgeable. Fast forward to yesterday's delivery: Wrong color delivered! I checked my receipt, and the wrong color was ordered by the salesman! My husband was there for delivery, and he sent the items back with the truck, not accepting them since they were not what we wanted. I get on the phone with the delivery center, which sends me to the store I bought it from and I actually spoke to the salesman that helped us with the order, and this is what upset me: He never acted sincerely apologetic. His words were "I try to be really careful when I key the numbers in with the item color and all. The ones you wanted were only one number different from the ones you got.....but since you sent them back with the delivery truck, you have to wait on them to restock and refund you (3+business days). While I have you on the phone, you can order the CORRECT ones and get them delivered, though."
Not good the item I wanted to purchase was not avaliable
Okay. Here's the kicker. They wouldn't give me store credit for the originally purchased set or place the order for new ones without me giving him ANOTHER $2,200 right then! Negative.
My experience with them in the last week has been horrible!
Paid 260 dollars to have a gasket changed on a front load washing machine, and the service tech failed to even check his work. Before I had a leak, now I have a machine that won't even power on. I called back a few hours after he left, and Sears was uncooperative in helping me and told me to call back tomorrow. I will never purchase anything from sears again.
(Warning- this is a long review because my terrible experience with Sears has lasted a month!)
My Sad Sears Story:
Anyhow, today marks the fifth time in three weeks that my haul away has been rescheduled with Sears and this last time the rescheduling was done without my knowledge. I found out about the rescheduling because I called Sears to make sure they weren't up to their usual two men crap, and then the customer service agent told me they rescheduled again because they couldn't get two men. When I ask why they didn't at least inform me of the change, the flipping agent hung up on me. I called back and angrily asked to speak with their manager, but they again refused to forward me to them.
So here we sit...a family of four, washer/dryer-less, and waiting on a refund.
The only other option for us to do was to wait until the refund is processed and then go back into the store and order the correct ones (that I thought were ordered the first time), wait another week or so for delivery, and cross my fingers that they are correct this time. Negative. Once we get our refund, we are driving across the street to Lowe's...where we should have gone in the first place!
I NEVER post reviews, especially negative ones, but I had to share my experience, if to do nothing else but to make customers check and recheck their orders and receipts before signing on the dotted line!
I know some readers may see this review and think this might be out of the ordinary, above the norm, or excessive circumstance where complaints aren't warranted. However, I spent over $1,000 for my refrigerator and paid the additional fee for the haul away service. Furthermore, when the Sears delivered guy dropped off our new refrigerator, he plopped it in our living room with assurances that he, "just needed to return with a team of four men instead of two to finish the job." As a result, my husband and I waited patiently for our rescheduled haul away appointment with Sears.
My house is in disarray with these two hulking refrigerators taking up space, and both me and my husband have lost all faith in Sears. We have vowed to never again purchase anything from Sears, and have come to the conclusion that all the people in Sears customer service are retarded. The previous reviewer said that the store at Parkdale doesn't answer their phone, and they aren't lying. It seems that I need to simply take things into my own hands and make a personal trip to Sears.
Since then, I have rescheduled three times, and each time, Sears only arrived with two men instead of the four required to lift the fridge. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE! Not only was I stuck with two hulking refrigerators taking up space in my condo over the thanksgiving holiday; but I had to move furniture around to accommodate the refrigerator sitting in my hallway. Its been nearly a month now, and Sears still can't seem to get things right. My husband keeps taking time away from work to remove the contents of our refrigerator and clear our kitchen counter for Sears to FINALLY DO THEIR JOB. Each time Sears falls through, I call them only to have them reschedule things for a later date. The customer service agents continue to promise that next time four men will come, and when I ask to speak to the manager over deliveries, they say, "we don't have a direct line to the store manager." (which I'm sure is a bunch of BS).
Look. I'm human, too. I know mistakes are made. I make them, too. But to pretty much shrug your shoulder and say, "Well if you wouldn't have sent them back with the truck, you could have used them until your new ones came in" without previously letting me know ANY THING of the sort is crazy! Who knew that you could use the wrong ones until the new ones came in? NOT ME, because no one told me about the "what ifs" that could potentially happen when I made the purchase.
Very pissed off ordered a oh ice box get it home and it's right hand. Like are you serious you don't check to make sure it's the right order before you load if in the customers vechiles
Its been a month since I received my new refrigerator (which I love). However, along with the delivery, I also paid for a haul away of my old fridge, but Sears STILL can't seem to gather a team of four men (versus the usual two) to come to my home and haul away my old broken refrigerator to set up my new refrigerator in its place. ( I need a team of four men because both refrigerators need to be lifted over my kitchen counter instead of merely being rolled away on a dolly).
