You will find cigar wrappers & other various trash left around & in the playground.
I love this park..............when we were growing up we named it a secret code name, I know If you grew up with us you will remember and love it too.
The park itself is nice. It's run down because of its age & extreme use.
Nice place for picnicking, walks, jogging, having gatherings and there's a building that is rentable for parties, wedding receptions and birthdays! It's clean there's a place to cook inside the building , it has restrooms inside building as well as outside in the park area. Park area has a nice playground for kids with swings slides and alot more. There is a basketball area.
The park was likely originally designed for young children with playful attitudes. Since then its had the wrong crowd & kids with bad attitudes.
Fun place to go. It is a little old and you need to keep track of your kids because it is big and does not have good visibility of all play areas.
We went on a Sunday afternoon & a rather large African American family was having a family day. Some of the kids & parents looked happy, others did not.
Overall - I'd say don't waste your time if you are looking for quality. If you don't worry about your kids safety - let them run free.
There is a basketball court & splash pad(only some of the jets are working).
I followed my 3.5yr old son through the entire wooden park & found various obstacle courses that have long needed replacing.
This park is in definite need of an overhaul, but the concept is great.
Park has acnew soccer field, black people do not play soccer but why we can't start
Some of the family were hanging out under the pavilion just talking & smoking cigs - others were walking around watching their kids. A couple of people had rap music playing out of the back of their car while they sat in lawn chairs smoking.
